泰坦尼克号当时碰撞(第八部分)之后,摇摇摆摆地始离冰架,重新开动引擎朝着Halifax出发了。船的所有状态表现良好,但是船以8节的速度航行了20分钟之后,最初决定是多么的错误越来越明显。向前航行给船造成了损伤,更多的水涌进了船舱。在水的压力下,最初没有发生碰撞的部分船体已经开始出现裂痕。海水在船内暴涨,慢慢灾难形成了。
